Commission a unique Pastel Portrait of your Pet

I work from detailed digital photographs of your pet and paint in pastels on a coloured premium card whose surface has been especially developed for this medium (360gsm/170lb). The size of the paper (not image) will be 25x35cm upwards depending on the pet and composition of the picture. Please contact me for an estimated start time for your picture as this will lengthen in busy periods. Every effort will be made to fit in with reasonable timescales. The period from order to delivery can be between 3-6 months, depending on the volume of orders at the time. If I can’t accommodate your request please consider a gift voucher. (See Below).
Gift vouchers:
I also sell gift vouchers for the busy periods or if you are making a last minute gift decision. This can be redeemed by the recipient for 12 months from the date of issue but is not redeemable for cash. If the pet is deceased please ensure the photos are suitable before purchase, as full payment and delivery charge will be required on ordering a gift voucher; I am happy to look at photos and advise before purchase. joanna@joannamiln.co.uk
Costs:
I charge ‘per image’ for an un-mounted and un-framed picture. One image £275: two images £500. A £50 non-refundable deposit is paid at the time of ordering to secure a commission. I am happy to post the final unframed picture charging for packaging and Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery. I accept payment by cheque, bank transfer or cash .
Deceased Pets:
It is possible to paint a picture of a deceased animal, but as I work directly from a photograph, if you do not have a good image, I will find it very difficult to get a good likeness. Very occasionally I have to turn down a commission due to the poor quality of the photograph. The better the photograph the better the resulting picture. A small image 1” high with lots of background on a 6”x4” printed photograph is very difficult to turn into a 12” high portrait!
